The Supreme Judiciary Council (SJC) has announced that from Sunday the judicial notices will be sent regarding the timing and dates of the designated court sessions.
The court sessions will be resumed gradually, abiding by the preventive and precautionary measures and providing a safe environment for all concerned as per the recommended health guidelines.
Local Arabic daily Arrayh reported Friday that the SJC through its Twitter account pointed out that this comes as part of following the directives of the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management in starting the gradual lifting of the restrictions imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic in addition to maintaining the rights of the parties involved.
However, the attendance of these sessions will be limited to the lawyers and the litigants, with all having the green status on the Ehteraz app on their smartphones. All concerned have to wear face masks and maintain a safe distance from each other. The maximum number of those permitted to be present at the court room and waiting halls shall be specified.
Priority will be given to the urgent cases and the sessions for verdicts. There will be adequate time between each session with some afternoon sessions as well. Meanwhile, new services will be available through the online courts programme, and remote hearing will be activated in the legally permissible cases in accordance with the law.
The percentage of court employees and staff will be observed according to the applicable rules and regulations while carrying out daily sanitisation process of the waiting halls and court rooms, Arrayah added.
