In recent years Qatar has been able to overcome difficulties, accomplish great achievements in local and international spheres, which show the determination and strength of the nation.
I would like to express my strong belief that under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatar will achieve further progress, significant development and rapid growth in order to achieve greater progress, stability and prosperity.
Recently, Qatar, like many other countries of the world, has been caught in the global war against the Covid-19 pandemic. Under the leadership of His Highness the Amir, Qatar has been successfully uniting its people, winning allies and forming a strong bond among the hundreds of thousands of expatriates in the fight against the disease.
Qatar has managed to strengthen the capacity of the health sector, taken all necessary measures in the urgent and long term to counter the effects of the pandemic, given priority to ensure the health of all residents, including foreign labourers.
At the international level, Qatar has actively shared responsibility and co-operation with other countries to face the global crises, through operating urgent air bridges to transport medical aid from Qatar to many countries in need and to ensure that the people stuck in the affected areas and the United Nations personnel are returned to their countries. In the context of limited flights globally, Qatar is still facilitating the continuation of operation of Qatar Airways to support humanitarian cases.
Vietnam – Qatar relations have continued to developed in various fields. In 2018, Vietnam and Qatar celebrated the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries with so many significant activities. In 2019, Vietnam National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended the 140th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU -140) and related meetings in Doha; Truong Thi Mai, Vietnam Communist Party politburo member, Party Central Committee secretary and head of PCC Commission for Mass Mobilisation paid a visit to Qatar. The high-levels visits have made great contributions to promoting the bilateral relations between the two countries.
With the attention of the leaders of the two countries, I strongly believe that the relations between Vietnam and Qatar will be more developed and strengthened in the coming years.
