* Some 1,200 people repatriated from Qatar so far

The Indian repatriation mission continued as one more flight took off from Doha on Thursday - IX 0476 for Kochi, the Indian embassy said.

This was the seventh flight from Qatar as part of the Indian government's Vande Bharat mission, "bringing the number of repatriated passengers from Qatar to 1,197, plus 40 infants", the embassy tweeted on Thursday.

Two flights were operated in the first phase of the mission, on May 9 and 12, to Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, respectively.

The second phase of the mission began on May 18, with flights being operated to Kozhikode, Kannur, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Kochi until now.

Two more flights are scheduled in this phase - IX 0822 for Bengaluru at 1.30pm on Friday and AI 972 for Gaya at 6pm on May 24, with a technical halt in Delhi.

The flights are being operated by Air India and Air India Express.

The embassy has thanked the Qatari government, the co-ordination committees for different states and the Indian community for their assistance in operating the repatriation flights from Doha.
