HE the Chairman of Qatar Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza Ambassador Mohammed Al Emadi on Wednesday said the Committee, in coordination with Qatar Fund For Development (QFFD), has started procedures to distribute grant to facilitate the marriages of impoverished youth in Gaza Strip.
HE Ambassador Al Emadi said that the $2 million grant will benefit 500 youth chosen according to the criteria established in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Gaza. Each person will get $4000.
He noted that this project comes within the package of projects announced during his recent visit to Gaza Strip in February, and it will be implemented in cooperation with the competent authorities in Gaza, headed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
HE Al Emadi also announced that the Committee, in coordination with Qatar Fund For Development, has started procedures to distribute a grant for clearance of pending certificates for needy university graduates in Gaza Strip.
Ambassador Al Emadi noted that the $1 million will benefit 6,512 graduates distributed over 20 educational institutions in Gaza Strip.
He added that the project comes within the package of projects announced during his recent visit to Gaza Strip in February, and it will be implemented in cooperation with the competent authorities in Gaza, headed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
