Massive efforts are under way in the closed part of the Industrial Area as part of the government's plans to ensure adequate and quality medical care for workers.
The area will get three field hospitals, which will carry out tests and extend medical care to the workers there, according to a health official.

Work on one of these facilities has started and it is expected to be completed within days.
“Work of one hospital is under way and a plan has been chalked out to set up two more hospitals,” said Dr Khalid Abdulnoor, who is in charge of medical operations in the area.
The first hospital will have 190 beds, including 40 beds to deal with emergency cases. The huge emergency section will be able to cater to "1,000-2,000 people a day".

“We are getting co-operation from the private sector and voluntary organisations. Facilities have been offered by generous persons and some of them have also allowed us to make use of the buildings in the area,” he said.
Observation facilities will be set up in a building provided by a Qatari businessman.
An outpatient clinic is functioning in the area and testing and examinations are carried out there. The official said all the medication is provided for free by Hamad Medical Corporation.
At present, the authorities have set up ambulance services to transport people who are in need for care.
