Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Nassif Hitti hailed the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to send urgent medical aid to his country to support efforts to combat the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, noting the deep relationship between Qatar and Lebanon.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency, the Lebanese minister thanked His Highness the Amir for his wise directives to send medical aid to Lebanon, pointing out that it does not surprise him considering the strong relations between the two brotherly countries.
He also thanked Qatar for providing a helping hand to Lebanon.
Lebanese Health Minister Hamad Hassan said before the material value of Qatari aid, it is a loving message that the Lebanese people and government received from Qatar, which always supports Arab brothers.
He added that this is a continuation of the constructive co-operation between the two countries at the official and national levels.
He said that during this difficult time and considering the tough economic situation, Qatar stood as a sincere friend of Lebanon.
The Lebanese health minister underlined that this is the true value of the Qatari aid to Lebanon.
Upon the directives of His Highness the Amir, the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) sent a shipment of urgent medical aid to Lebanon to combat the coronavirus epidemic.
