The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced that the total number of Medical Commission visitors reached about 607,601 in 2019 with an average of 2,470 visitors per day on 246 working days and the rate of electronic registration reached 60% and manual registration 40%. The Medical Commission in 2019 also conducted 1,555,862 medical tests of different types, while the total number of x-ray images taken inside and outside Qatar is 781,083. The number of medical fitness certificates of different types issued last year, reached 194,882.
Dr Ibrahim al-Shaar, director of Medical Commission said that the institute succeeded in achieving many important projects and plans for developing workflow in 2019. For example, Medical Commission Department has represented MoPH in the project of fingerprint capturing, vital signs data and conducting medical examinations for applicants in their home countries.
The executive regulations of the Medical Commission Department were updated to enhance the accuracy, and quality of procedures. The department also succeeded in completing the phases of gap analysis, risk management and documentation in co-operation with Planning and Quality Department at MoPH and the consulting company regarding establishing the ISO 9001: 2015 system. In addition, the department has initiated guiding and mentoring programme in co-ordination with MoPH’s Human Resources Department.
About raising the efficiency in workplace, employees have been trained on programmes that help develop their competencies and skills to contribute in providing high quality services. As many as 320 employees were enrolled in different training programmes that enhanced their capabilities and skills in administration and career development, as well as 15 employees participated in programmes which raised awareness on ISO system and the documentation of medical commissions procedures in accordance with 9001: 2015 standard, as well as training all employees on cyber security.
