Qatar Charity (QC) has stressed that it continues to ease Syrians’ plight.
Over the last few years, QC, in co-operation and co-ordination with the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) and in partnership with different organisations, has launched many relief campaigns to continue supporting the Syrian people within their country and the countries of asylum.
These campaigns are aimed at meeting the urgent needs of the Syrian people struggling to survive under challenging humanitarian situations.

Recently, a delegation from Qatar Charity distributed the first batch of urgent aid directly among the displaced in the country, and refugees in Turkish areas bordering Syria, in view of one of the largest Syrian displacements since 2011. The aid included 200 tonnes of relief materials worth over QR14mn to benefit 864,618 people, QC said in a statement.
Another delegation is expected to deliver the second batch of aid to vulnerable Syrians.
The ‘Arsal Relief’ campaign, launched last year by Qatar Charity under the supervision of RACA, has benefited hundreds of thousands of people in Syria and the countries of asylum, focusing on providing urgent relief to those affected by snowstorms, frost and rain, the statement noted.
Last year, the needs of the Syrian people within their country and in the countries of asylum amounted to nearly $9bn, of which only $4bn were raised, meaning that 42% of the 2019 needs were met, a United Nations (UN) report shows.
According to the UN, more than 900,000 people have been displaced in the last three months, 80% of whom are women and children. This is in addition to half a million children who have also been displaced.
