Qatari Diar partially opened on Tuesday the A1 Road in Lusail city. The 10.3km-long road will connect the southern and northern parts of the road from Lusail Expressway to Al Khor road.

The opening was attended by member of the Central Municipal Council Ali bin Fahd al-Shahwani, the traffic safety department's Saoud Abdullah al-Hamad, and senior executives from Qatari Diar. The road will help connect all the different areas inside Lusail city, in addition to shortening trips from the city centre to Lusail.

The road contains a modern network to drain the rain water, in addition to 1.2km of tunnels, in addition 9.6km of pedestrian, and bike lanes. It also has 5,800 trees and palm trees. The road beautification process will be completed by the end of 2020.


Al-Shahwani said he was impressed with the project, saying that the opening will encourage investors to have a look at developments in the city, stressing that the projects of Qatari Diar increases confidence in the Qatari economy.

Qatari Diar Real Estate Company was established in 2005 by the Qatar Investment Authority, the sovereign wealth fund of Qatar. Its goal is to support Qatar's growing economy and to co-ordinate the country's real estate development priorities. Qatari Diar has a shared capital of $8bn, with 60 investment projects under development or held in 24 countries around the world, combining a value of over $35bn.
