HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani sent a written message to the Director-General of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna Ghada Wali.
The message was delivered by Qatar's ambassador to Austria and its Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organisations in Vienna Sultan bin Salmeen al-Mansouri, during his meeting with the Ghada Wali.
Al-Mansouri emphasised the importance that Qatar attaches to the UNODC due to its distinguished role in combating crime and drugs, and Qatar's keenness to provide all forms of support necessary for the new director-general to help her in carrying out her duties.
Ghada Wali commended the co-operation between Qatar and the UNODC, especially the continuous support from Qatar for the programmes and projects of the United Nations office in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice, and its support for the goals and principles upon which the UN was founded.
