The Sports Month at Doha Festival City kicked off its running and cycling marathons Friday as part of its weekend fitness and recreational activities for Qatar residents and visitors to engage with. The month-long celebration marks Qatar National Sport Day (NSD), held annually every second Tuesday of February, aimed at promoting an active and healthy lifestyle in the country.
Young and adult cyclists, as well as runners, had the chance to explore Doha Festival City’s Outdoor Leisure Trail – the venue for its weekend competition (every Friday and Saturday, and on February 11) scheduled from 8am to noon. The track, which features various surfaces and exercise stations along the route, is also open round-the-clock for seven days to those who simply want to jog or walk at their convenient time.
