The Women’s Branch of the Qatar Charity (QC) Centre for Community Development in Al Rayyan has launched a series of cultural, educational, social and recreational programmes, with the participation of 300 women, girls, children and school students. Targeting children, girls, non-literate mothers, educated women and non-Arabic-speaking mothers, the programmes aim to teach them the basics of the Arabic language and the recitation of the Holy Qur’an in a proper way, QC has said in a statement.
The programmes, which will continue until mid-April, include training courses, workshops, lectures, cultural events and competitions. The centre has announced that women, girls and children can still register in the ‘My Language’ programme, which aims at teaching non-literate mothers the correct pronunciation of letters and basics of the Arabic language.
One of these programmes aims to provide a Qur’anic environment that includes the scientific, educational and cultural aspects. It also aims at consolidating the principles and values that contribute to building personality. The programme is expected to benefit 160 students, including mothers and non-Arabic speaking women, in addition to girls aged 7-19 years, the statement notes. Another programme, with the participation of 90 male and female students, aims at teaching children moral values as well as writing and reading skills, in addition to holding cultural activities that would contribute to enhancing their social skills and values. This programme focuses on teaching the participants the skill of reading short stories and writing words and sentences.
The Women’s Branch of the Qatar Charity Centre for Community Development in Al Rayyan offers a course named ‘My Language’ to teach non-literate mothers the correct pronunciation of letters and the basics of the Arabic language, in addition to offering the Al-Qaida Noorania course for teaching Arabic alphabets, as well as ‘This is Muhammad’, a course to acquaint participants with the Prophet (PBUH) as a role model.
