The Cabinet’s regular meeting, chaired by HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani on Wednesday approved a draft law on combating doping in the field of sport.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports has prepared the draft law with a view to upgrading the Qatari sports system in line with international standards, and taking the necessary measures to preserve the health of athletes and avoid harmful practices that violate sport ethics, values and noble goals.

Giving details of Wednesday’s meeting, which was held at the Amiri Diwan, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi stated that the Cabinet reviewed topics on its meeting's agenda as following:

The Cabinet took the necessary measures to issue a draft law amending some provisions of Decree Law No 17 of 2010 organising the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), after it reviewed the Shura Council's recommendation on the draft law.

The Cabinet The Cabinet approved the draft decision of the Minister of Justice to specify fees for issuing and renewing licenses to practice real estate brokerage and authorizing the practice of some real estate brokerage activities.

It also approved the holding of the 5th session of the Qatari-Kazakhstan Joint Higher Committee in Kazakhstan.

Moreover, the Cabinet approved a draft air transport agreement between the governments of Qatar and Iraq, a draft memorandum of understanding to establish a mechanism for political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia, a draft memorandum of understanding for co-operation in the field of agriculture and food security between the Ministry of Municipal and Environment of Qatar and the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan, a draft declaration of common intent in the field of sustainable and smart cities between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar, the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition of France, and the Ministry of Territorial Cohesion and Relations with Local Authorities of France, and a draft declaration of common intent in the field of digital co-operation between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar, the Ministry of the Economy and Finance of France and the Ministry of Territorial Cohesion and Relations with Local Authorities of France.

After that, the Cabinet reviewed HE the Minister of Public Health's letter regarding the results of the 5th meeting of the 5th meeting of the GCC Health Ministers' Committee and the 82nd Conference Council of Ministers of Health of the GCC countries, and took the appropriate decision thereon.
