As part of Qatar National Day celebrations, the Organising Committee of the Associated Activities of Qatar National Day 2019 Celebrations will host 12 mega cultural, musical and sports events on Wednesday.

The events will be held at 10 venues in collaboration with Asian communities, companies and Asian schools in Qatar.

The announcement came at a press conference conducted on Monday by the Ministry of Interior's Missions and Establishments Security Department official Col Mabkhout al-Marri and MoI public relations officer Lt Hamad Ali al-Jahweel al-Marri.

A wide range of cultural events and musical performances will be presented at Wakrah Sports Club, Barwa Al Baraha and Asian Accommodation City in Industrial Area, Asian Town, Doha Stadium, Sri Lankan School in Doha, Barwa Village - Mukainis, Sheehaniya Industrial Area, Lusail Sports Complex and Al Khor Barwa Workers Recreation Complex.

Asian Town (Industrial Area): Indian, Bangladeshi and Nepali community artistes will present cultural and music performances. The community teams will participate in the thematic parade competition. Artistes from India will perform a music concert along with stand-up comedy and Qawwali. Sabri Brothers and Deepak Mahan are among the popular artists performing in Asian Town and Asian Accommodation City.

Wakrah Sports Club: Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre will showcase a variety of popular shows. Popular junior singers and Zee TV Sa Re Ga Ma Show stars Vaishnav Girish and Yumna Ojin will perform at an event to be held from 3pm to 9pm in the indoor football stadium.

Pakistani Musical Concert: The Wakrah Football stadium will host cultural fiesta and music concert in Punjabi, Pushto and Balochi by famous Pakistani artistes such as Gulab, Nazaneen, Bakhtawar Qayoom, Shah Farooq, Preshey Khan, Shazeen and Khan Zaib from 4pm to 9pm. Doha Stadium will also host a music concert by artists and singers from Pakistan including Hashmat Sahar, Ishrat, Abid ur Rahman and Nawaz Afridi.

Barwa Al Baraha Industrial Area: Indian, Bangladeshi and Nepalese community teams will stage cultural performances and traditional shows. There will be an Asian orchestra, Arabic dance, Kolkali, cultural fusion and chenda melam. The event will be held at the football ground in Barwa Al Baraha from 3pm to 9pm.

The Sri Lankan School in Qatar will host cultural performances and shows by artistes under the Sri Lankan Co-ordination Committee. A concert led by famous Sri Lankan singer Neel Warnakulasouriya of Sunflower Band will be staged from 3pm to 9pm.

Sheehaniya will host cultural and traditional shows by Indian, Bangladeshi and Nepalese community teams and an Asian orchestra from 3pm to 9pm.

Barwa Village Mukainis will host Indian, Bangladeshi, Nepalese community cultural performances and traditional shows as well as music shows by an Asian orchestra from 4pm to 9pm.

Lusail Sports Arena will host a mega arts fest led by the Asian school students from 9am to 4.30pm. A total of 17 Asian schools will take part in parade, thematic show, thematic song, and elocution.

Al Khor Barwa Workers' Recreation Complex: Cultural and folklore shows and music performances of Bangladeshi, Nepalese and Indian teams from 4pm to 9pm. Mega event, Mohamed Aslam Nights, is a highlight. Famous Indian, Bengali singers and Filipino band will perform.

T20 Cricket Match: The cricket stadium in Asian Town will host a T20 cricket match between Qatar local players and international players from 3pm. The event is organised in association with the Qatar Cricket Association. Famous players such as Abdul Razak, Imran Farhat, Kamran Akmal, Rana Naveed Ul Hassan, Salman Butt, Sohail Tanveer and Jahanazeb Naveed, Ajantha Mendis, Satvir Singh and Fazel Rahman Zazai will play.

Qatar Cricket Association president Yousef Jeham al-Kuwari and representatives of various community organisations attended the press conference.
