Qatar attends session at Conference of Red Cross and Red Crescent
Qatar participated in a session of the 33rd International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent on the topic “Transforming vulnerabilities: catching up with accelerating challenges,” QNA reports from Geneva Tariq Ali al-Ansari, director, Department of International Co-operation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headed the Qatar’s delegation to the session.
During a speech, al-Ansari pointed out to the national plans and development policy to achieve the goals of sustainable development in Qatar.
The session focused on the need for new approaches to face current and future humanitarian challenges, reduce vulnerabilities, and take advantage of new opportunities.

Qatar condemns blast in Afghanistan
Qatar has strongly condemned the bombing in Ghazni province, eastern Afghanistan, which resulted in deaths and injuries. In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm stance on rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of the motives and causes. The statement expressed Qatar’s condolences to the families of the victims and the Government and people of Afghanistan, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

Armenian president arrives in Doha
Armenian President Armen Sarkissian arrived in Doha yesterday morning to participate in Doha Forum 2019 which will be held on December 14 and 15.
President Sarkissian and the accompanying delegation were welcomed upon arrival at Hamad International Airport by Qatar’s ambassador to Armenia Mohamed bin Hamad al-Fuhaid al-Hajeri and Armenian ambassador to Qatar Gegham Gharibjanian.

Doha Declaration Global Programme publishes story
The Doha Declaration Global Programme has published a story titled “Using the Power of Sports to Prevent Youth Crime and Drug Use” on its official website, QNA reports from Vienna.
Qatar hosted the United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in 2015, which yielded the Doha Declaration which included a five-year plan to prevent crime. Qatar finances the global programme with more than $49mn to implement the plan.
