Qatar Motorsports Academy conducted the first round of the QMA Challenge at the Losail Circuit Sports Club, where a total of 44 children took part in the event. The QMA Challenge is a new championship, with three races scheduled during 2019/2010 season.
The young riders, who have training at the academy, competed on road track (karting area) in different categories: 18 riders in Minimotard 70, 11 riders in MiniGP 110, four riders in Supermotard 125, and six riders in SSP300. There was also an exhibition event with 5 beginner riders in the Rookies category, where they practised different technical exercise in front of the public. 
In the Minimotard 70 category, there was a Last Chance race to decide which riders pass to the Final Race. British rider Bobby Danvers and Qatar’s Shaikha al-Remaihi finished first and second respectively. In the Minimotard 70 Final race, American Salman Pathan took the victory after completing eight laps in a total time of 6:25.322 secs. Pathan was followed by the Spain’s Miguel Roda, while Agatha Muscolino of Italy came third.
In MiniGP 110 category, there was also a Last Chance race, where the first and second position went to Malaysian riders Alya Maisarah and Johaan Ameer Zarfan, respectively. 
In the MiniGP 100 Final race, the podium was for last year’s winner in the Minimotard70, Nolann Macary from France, who completed the 12 laps in 8:12.228 secs. Egypt’s Mahmoud Elbanna finished second, while Carlos Baquero was third.  
There was one Final race only for the Supermotard 125, where Italy’s Nicola Muscolino emerged triumphant in 8.46:164 secs. Sami Salvaggio of Belgium finished in second place and the Malaysian Syafiq Bin Zairin completed the podium.
In SSP300, Qatar’s Hamad al-Saouti with a time of 8.21:492 won the event. Saad Alharqan also from Qatar finished in second place, while Alexian Macary of France completed the podium. 
Trophies were presented by LCSC Vice President and General Manager Khalid al-Remaihi, LCSC CEO Juan Baquero, Head of QMA Jose Luis Cardoso and QMA coaches Alberto Moncayo, Ruben Herrera, Andrea Sibaja and Mateo Tunez. The other rounds will be held on the April 4 and April 18.
