On the occasion of his official visit to Qatar, Vietnam’s Minister for Public Security General To Lam, visited his country’s embassy in Doha yesterday.
The Politburo Member, heading a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, praised the efforts of the embassy and the contributions of the Vietnamese community in boosting relations with Qatar.
He encouraged the community to abide by the local laws and regulations and expressed hope they would continue to maintain solidarity and help each other in times of need, according to a statement from the embassy.
General Lam also praised the Vietnamese delegation that participated in the International Junior Science Olympiad which concluded in Doha yesterday. He also granted awards to the six students who won three gold medals and three silver medals in the event.
On his first visit to Qatar, Minister To Lam admired the remarkable progress of the country in terms of development, modernisation, security and all other aspects of life.
On the occasion of the upcoming National Day of Qatar, he extended his wholehearted congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, and to His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and the Qatari people.
