Qetaifan Projects, a subsidiary of Katara Hospitality, has announced the awarding of residential and commercial plot reservations (villas and towers) of the first phase to investors at a gala dinner.
The event was attended by Katara Hospitality chairman Sheikh Nawaf bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani, Katara Hospitality vice chairman and Qetaifan Projects managing director Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman al-Thani.
Also in attendance were chief technical officer Mohamed el-Garhy, chief operating officer Hesham Sharaf, chief legal officer Jean Antonios, and Just Real Estate CEO Nasser al-Ansari, as well as other VIP guests and investors interested in owning properties at Qetaifan Island North.
Due to the high demand for bookings at the company’s booth during Cityscape 2019, bookings were awarded for ownership by bidding on the down payment, in co-operation with Just Real Estate, the exclusive real estate broker. Qetaifan Island North is designed to be Qatar’s future iconic destination with its unique elements and attractions that the whole family can enjoy, starting with a waterpark inspired by the Qatari culture and the production of oil and gas, a hotel operated by Rixos, in addition to diversified waterfronts, a linear park along the island surrounded by retail outlets and services, and distinct waterfront neighbourhoods, a mosque, school, and world-class spas.
The Beach Club is the first project planned for completion by the first quarter of 2020, featuring a clubhouse that offers different activities to be enjoyed by the whole family.
Sheikh Nawaf said: “Qetaifan Projects represents a milestone in our commitment to invest in developing the tourism industry and strengthening the local hospitality sector in Qatar. “Katara Hospitality’s vision is to change the hospitality world through investment and innovation, which will leave a prominent legacy for future generations in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.”
He added: “This project reinforces our position in the local hospitality sector as a major player shaping the tourism industry, which would create a safe and sustainable investment that bears the name of the State of Qatar.” Sheikh Nasser said, “We are honoured to welcome the first owners of Qetaifan Island North’s Phase 1 plots. This demonstrates Qetaifan Projects’ position in the local real estate development market and reflects the confidence that corresponds to the achievements and ambition for Qetaifan Island North to the highest international standards and competes as the first leisure and entertainment touristic destination in Qatar. This puts on us more responsibility by our commitment to provide the best for our beloved country. “We are working hard to add to the real estate development market in the recent period, and we consider the Qetaifan Island North as a starting point for Qetaifan projects towards the development of more projects serving the various sectors of the country. Qetaifan Island North is the first project of Qetaifan Projects. We are keen to see this project come to light in line with Qatar National vision 2030.”
Qetaifan Island North is located off Lusail City and features seven beaches, which makes it the city’s distinct waterfront destination. The island spans approximately 1.3mn sq m with 830,000sq m of attractions.
