Ambassador of Peru to Qatar Jose Benzaquen Perea said that his country fully agrees with Qatar on common objectives, such as the prosperity and happiness of their people, promoting a close link between external action and development priorities. Both countries based on the rule of law, with diplomatic policies for renewed co-operation, political dialogue, and promotion of trade and investments, as well as the protection of human rights, the fight against poverty, terrorism; environmental conservation; and, education and health for all, the ambassador said.
In an executive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of Qatar National Day, the ambassador hailed His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani’s visit to Peru in October 2018, saying that it strengthened bilateral relationship, with the signing of various agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOU): “For the year 2020 we are working and co-ordinating the visit to Qatar of our President Martin Vizcarra Cornejo,” he said.
“The National Day of a country is one of the most significant events in the history of a nation; therefore, it is to remember what freedom and independence means, for a worthy country, like Qatar. The independence was obtained thanks to the determination and drive of its leaders and its people,” the envoy underlined.
“I believe that the extraordinary achievements of Qatar lie fundamentally in its respect and fulfilment with what was established by the international agreements, in the principles and norms of international law, and harmonious coexistence with all the actors in world society,” he added.
