Commissioned by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani participated along with heads of delegations of Gulf countries in the opening of the 40th session of the GCC Supreme Council, which was held at the Diriyah Palace in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Tuesday.

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani being welcomed at the Riyadh airbase airport by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Governor of Riyadh Province Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Minister of State and member of the Council of Ministers Dr Musaad bin Mohammed Al Aiban, and the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdullatif Rashid Al Zayani.

The session was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Prime Minister.
HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani attended a luncheon banquet held by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, for the delegation.
The Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah met at Diriyah Palace with HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, and his wishes of good health and well-being to the Kuwaiti Amir and for further progress and prosperity to the Kuwaiti people.
For his part, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah reciprocated his greetings and wishes of success and happiness to His Highness the Amir, and to the Qatari people for further development and growth.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations, in addition to discussing the topics on the agenda of the 40th session of the GCC Supreme Council.
The meeting was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Prime Minister.
On the Kuwaiti side it was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir of Kuwait.
HE the Prime Minister later left Riyadh. He was seen off upon departure at King Salman Air Base Airport by Minister of State and member of the Council of Ministers Dr Musaad bin Mohamed al-Aiban.
He returned to Doha Tuesday evening.
