President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian left Doha yesterday morning after an official visit to the country. The president and the accompanying delegation were seen off upon departure at Hamad International Airport by HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti, Qatar’s ambassador to Armenia Mohammed bin Hamad al-Fuhaid al-Hajeri and ambassador of Armenia to Qatar Gegham Gharibjanian.

Foreign ministry secretary-general meets EU official
HE the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi met yesterday with European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides. During the meeting, they discussed Qatar-EU bilateral relations and means to support and develop them, in addition to key topics of mutual interest.

Qatar condemns attack on police patrol in Iraq
Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack that targeted a police patrol south of Kirkuk in Iraq, killing three members and injuring four. In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm position on rejecting violence and terrorism, whatever the motives and reasons. The statement expressed the condolences of the State of Qatar to the families of the victims, and to the government and people of Iraq, wishing the injured a speed recovery.

Qatar condemns attack on army patrol in Mali
Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack that targeted an army patrol in northern Mali, killing and wounding dozens of people. In a statement issued yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm stance on rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of the motives and reasons. QOC to organise third edition of Flag Relay next month
Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) will organise the third edition of the Flag Relay on December 13 as part of the Qatar National Day celebrations, QNA reports.
A large number of current athletes, retirees, school students and individuals from various sections of society, as well as public figures, will take part in the Flag Relay that will be launched from the QOC headquarters and during which the Qatari flag will be carried across the country’s iconic landmarks.
It will cover areas such as Doha Corniche, Qatar Foundation, Katara – the Cultural Village and Hamad International Airport.
