HE the Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad bin Sherida al-Kaabi, met with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka.
Al-Kaabi and Hasina discussed bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Qatar, and means to further enhance co-operation between the two countries in the energy field.
Bangladesh has been receiving Qatari LNG since April 2018, when Qatargas delivered its first cargo as part of a long-term, 2.5mn-tonnes-per-year sale and purchase agreement with Petrobangla.

Al-Kaab also met Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, the Prime Minister’s adviser for Energy, Power and Mineral Resources Affairs in Dhaka.
Discussions during the meeting dealt with a number of issues of mutual interest, foremost of which was co-operation in the field of energy.
During his Dhaka visit, al-Kaabi also met Nasrul Hamad Bipu, Bangladesh’s State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources. He had a meeting with Ruhul Amin, chairman of the Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla).
The discussions were on a wide range of issues of common interest to both countries, which focused on co-operation in the field of energy, particularly in the LNG trade.
