Al Khor Mall, in association with Al Khor Hospital and Raha Medical Center, has conducted a CSR (corporate social responsibility) campaign throughout the month of October to observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The campaign has been conducted with the aim to reach out to people, educate them on the issue, and increase awareness of the disease, a press statement notes.
As part of the campaign, the mall was decorated with pink ribbons to give the awareness initiative due visibility.
Also, the mall's retailers wore special t-shirts for the occasion, provided by LuLu Hypermarket Qatar, to show support for the campaign.

In partnership with Al Khor Hospital (part of Hamad Medical Corporation) and Raha Medical Center (Al Khor), the mall conducted various activities during weekends, which included awareness classes, nutrition-specific sessions, providing tips on the symptoms of breast cancer, and highlighting the importance of early screening and early detection.
As part of the activities, the mall's customer service staff distributed free pink ribbons to visitors so that they could become part of the awareness campaign.
This also helped spread awareness among as many people as possible, the statement noted.
Commenting on the initiative, an official spokesman of LuLu Hypermarket Qatar, which manages Al Khor Mall, said: “The breast cancer awareness campaign is a true testament to the dedication of our people, our values, and who we are as a group, and most importantly, the lives we can positively impact in Qatar."
Whether it’s a "personal health journey, a family member, a colleague or a close friend who is battling the disease, it’s important to step up and learn about the ways to support the cause, and Al Khor Mall is doing just that as a part of its social responsibility towards the community", the statement adds.
