HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari met here yesterday with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Hungary Peter Szijjarto, who is currently visiting the country. 
The meeting discussed bilateral relations and joint co-operation, particularly in the fields of trade, industry and investment and ways to strengthen them in light of the ties of friendship and common strategic interests that bind the two countries.
The meeting highlighted developments in the Qatari economy over the past years, and reviewed investment opportunities in all sectors along with investment incentives and legislation approved by the State of Qatar, including the law regulating non-Qatari capital investment in economic activity, initiatives launched to support the private sector, to increase foreign direct investment and to attract more Hungarian companies to the Qatari market.
Al-Kuwari stressed the importance of signing an agreement to encourage and protect investments between the two countries. This would promote trade and encourage businesses from both sides to establish joint investment projects that serve the economic interests of both countries, highlighting the importance of holding the third session of the Qatari-Hungarian Joint Committee.
