The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) announced that it has penalised 10 food establishments in different areas in Doha city for storing or preparing foodstuff in unsanitary conditions.

The MME said in a statement on Monday that the violations were registered after an inspection campaign carried out by the Doha Municipality's Health Control Section on Sunday.

The inspectors found a cafeteria and a supermarket in Madinat Khalifa South and Bin Mahmoud areas storing foodstuffs inside the workers' accommodation in unsanitary conditions and out of sight of the inspectors.

The violation reports were issued in accordance with Law No 8 of 1990 on the regulation of human food control.

Six restaurants, a bakery and a cafeteria in different areas in Doha were also found preparing foodstuffs in unsanitary conditions.
