Qatari dignitaries join Pakistan ambassador to cut a cake at the event yesterday.

The Pakistan embassy held a Defence Day reception at Ritz-Carlton Doha yesterday to celebrate Pakistan’s Armed Forces Day. The event paid homage and tributes to the martyrs and ghazis of Pakistan Armed Forces who have rendered supreme sacrifices in the defence of the country.
Qatar Armed Forces chief protocol officer Brig Gen Khalid Mohamed al-Halbadi, director evaluation Brig Gen Hamid Hussain al-Sayari, Pakistan ambassador Syed Ahsan Raza Shah, diplomats and defence attaches of various countries, members of the Qatar and Pakistani Armed Forces as well as members of the Pakistan community were present.
In his speech, ambassador Shah recalled that throughout its history Pakistan has confronted, and overcome external aggression as well as internal threats in the form of terrorism and extremism. 
“This has only been possible because of the bravery and courage of our Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies. As we commemorate this day, we pledge to continue to promote the ideals of peace, respect for human life and freedom not only at the domestic front but also at the regional and global level as well. ”
The ambassador appreciated the visionary leadership of Qatar and said that the government and the people of Pakistan greatly admire the vision and commitment of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and the rest of the Qatari leadership, which has set the course for remarkable progress of the country.
“Our defence relations are robust and multi-focused covering military training, bilateral exercises, and deputations. This year has seen exceptional activity in terms of bilateral visits.
“These include exchange of bilateral visits by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to Pakistan, and Prime Minister Imran Khan to Qatar.
“In the defence domain, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee chairman General Zubair Mehmood Hayat visited Qatar besides many other dignitaries and, Qatar Amiri Air Force Commander Maj Gen Salem Hamad al-Nabet visited Pakistan in September this year.
“Regular joint exercises between Special Service Group and at the level of three services also exist. Nearly 1,000 personnel of Pakistan Armed Forces are serving in Qatar Armed Forces.
“Besides, the delivery and induction of the first Pakistan built primary trainer, Super Mushshak aircraft in Qatar Amiri Air Force speaks itself of the military engagements both brotherly countries have. I am sure this momentum will continue for long in future,” the ambassador added.
