Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the military operation in east of the Syrian Euphrates will contribute to peace and stability in this country.
 This came in a telephone conversation between Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, yesterday, according to a statement issued by the Turkey’s presidential communications office. 
 The statement pointed out that Erdogan stressed that the Turkish operation will pave the way for a political solution in Syria, stressing that the protection of the rights and interests of the Syrian people is a key element for Turkey, noting that Ankara values the constructive role of Russia at this stage.
Meanwhile, Operation Peace Spring is being carried out in accordance with international law, Article 51 of the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolutions on fight against terrorism, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said yesterday.
“This operation is being carried out in accordance with international law, Article 51 of the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolutions on fight against terrorism,” Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Twitter.
With the operation, the region will be cleared of terrorists, Syria’s border security and territorial integrity will be guaranteed, displaced people will be able to return safely to their homes and peace and safety will prevail in the region, he added.
