Up to 1,300 athletes from 97 countries have qualified to take part in the inaugural Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) World Beach Games Qatar 2019 from October 12-16.
The Local Organising Committee (LOC) has confirmed that some of the world’s best athletes from all five continents will be competing for 350 medals in 14 disciplines across 13 sports.
The competition begins on October 11, one day before the opening ceremony, and wraps up on October 16 with three venues being specially created to welcome the world to Qatar.
Organisers say the event has been designed to connect new sports and new stars with a new generation of sports fans, resulting in a big celebration of sport in Qatar where all nationalities will come together in the name of fair play.
