His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Thursday met French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace.

Later the Amir attended a working lunch hosted by Macron at the Elysee Palace.

The Amir and French the president discussed the development of strategic ties and co-operation.

The talks also focused on the latest developments in the region and the world, particularly in the Gulf and in Libya.

The working lunch was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir.

On the French side, the meeting was attended by a number of ministers and ranking officials.

The Amir arrived in Paris on Wednesday evening.

The Amir will attend the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, which will take place at the UN’s headquarters in New York.

He will deliver a speech during the opening session of the General Assembly on September 24.
