The centre offers diverse services for ministries, government organisations, private companies, schools, universities, hotels, banks and youth clubs, QRCS has said in a statement.
"Inspired by QRCS’s objectives and principles as an auxiliary to the State of Qatar, TRDC seeks to develop humanitarian services, particularly healthcare, in harmony with the country’s recent advancements," the statement explains, adding that it is a training and qualification facility that offers diverse training and education services.
Using state-of-the-art training equipment and techniques, the centre holds several courses internationally accredited by global training organisations, "in compliance with the highest standards". TRDC serves a wide range of medical workers in Qatar, including physicians, nurses, first responders and technicians. It also covers disaster preparedness and relief workers both within and outside Qatar, in line with "the world’s best health and administrative practices".
The aim of TRDC "is to improve the quality and efficiency of services, paying great attention to government and private sector employees, construction and infrastructure workers, and all social groups," the statement notes. The public courses cover topics such as first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillator, heartsaver and oxygen administration.
In relation to continuing medical education/continuing professional development, the courses include IPCCE, evaluation of direct observation skills at the wound care clinic, nursing leadership, understanding of patient safety fields, basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLA).
Under the community health education activities, TRDC holds "health day" initiatives at companies and hotels, Weqaya (field awareness sessions for workers), health education lectures, public health exhibitions and the QRCS School Programme health component.
All the programmes offered are accredited by the Ministry of Public Health’s Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners, American Heart Association (AHA), European Society of Cardiology and International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The courses are delivered by well-trained instructors with international certification, including 15 first-aid and AHA courses (ACLA/BLS), certified lifeguard instructors, 15 experienced QCHP-certified medical lecturers and 100 community health educators. TRDC adopts a development strategy that involves regular review of objectives, regular performance evaluation, constant updating of curricula and technology, and enrichment of partnerships with government organisations and NGOs, the statement adds.
