The Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) has announced the kick-off of its Kawader Programme’s seventh edition, in partnership with the Qatar Financial Centre.
This follows the success of the programme's previous editions in the last six years, QFBA has said in a press statement.
This edition of the Kawader programme sees the participation of 28 of the brightest young Qatari talents in the financial field, both academic graduates and professionals, who have been carefully selected based on their capabilities and potential to be shaped and upskilled into the financial services sector’s next-generation leaders, empowered by both academic and technical expertise, the statement notes.

The programme’s seventh edition will run for three months, two of which will entail academic development while the third month will involve on-the-job practical training at global and local financial institutions and corporations. A number of expert trainers will be supervising and overseeing Kawader’s learning and development track throughout the course of the programme, supporting in the provision of information and other resources to participants.
This year marks a new addition by QFBA to the programme; a simulation course and exercise for commerce and financial services will offer Kawader participants access to practical hands-on experience, allowing them to apply their learning outcomes from the programme’s variety of courses.
Kawader boasts of "a unique capacity-building and development model, a blended learning experience converging theoretical fundamentals with on-the-ground professional training in the workplace, all under the framework of one programme", the statement explains. As such, it offers students "in-depth insight and perspective" into leading worldwide institutions in the financial services landscape, and the chance to benefit from a series of training courses built and designed around their learning gaps and needs, backed by a number of internationally accredited qualifications and certifications – including those from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment, the Institute of Leadership and Management, and the CFA institute.
Over the years, Kawader participants have demonstrated and sharpened "unique values and traits" for their long-term career and personal growth: a "resolute commitment to intensive training, punctuality, teamwork and autonomy, as well as an uncompromising work ethic and discipline" in the classroom, and in institutions where they gained on-the-job work experience.
Dr Khalid al-Horr, CEO at QFBA, said: “The kick-off of this edition of Kawader comes based on the success that crowned our previous editions of the programme; a testament to the overwhelming response and traction it has gained with both the students and Qatar’s banking and finance sector."
QFBA’s practical learning philosophy and model "equips Kawader participants with unique real-life skillsets and experiences that empower and enable their development throughout their career path". In turn, the programme provides leading financial institutions and corporations with a distinguished, highly trained talent pool that holds the tools to succeed and add great value to their operations and organisations.
Kawader, which was first launched through a strategic partnership between QFBA and the Qatar Financial Centre Authority, is a "unique opportunity and programme" for young Qatari graduates and entry-level professionals, as it is fully sponsored and bears no tuition fees for participants.
Today, with 28 new programme participants under its seventh edition, Kawader’s cohort counts 176 students since it launched its first edition.
