The two and a half month long festival, dubbed as ‘Summer in Qatar’, has been witnessing a variety of summer experiences, retail offers and entertainment – from the start of Eid al-Fitr to the end of Eid al-Adha.
The campaign has so far offered lots of different attractions such as music concerts, stand-up comedy shows, community progreammes, activities for kids at shopping malls, game parks, movie awards, special movie screenings for children, different outdoor tours and desert safari.
The purpose of the campaign has been to offer attractive indoor and outdoor activities to the residents during the summer days. The primary focus has been to keep the children and the families busy during the summer vacation. As far as the families are concerned, one big attraction is coming up for them in the form of a horror comedy stage show from Kuwait.
Devil Steps, a stage show, is being organised by Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) at Qatar National Theatre (QNT). The show will be organised daily from August 11 to 18.
According to the organisers, the action-horror comedy show is 180 minutes long. The audience of seven years and above will be allowed to enter the theatre. The ticket price ranges from QR100 to QR1,000. 
Presented by The Salam Media Group, Devil Steps offers a purposeful entertainment. The cast of the comedy show include; Abdulaziz al-Musallam, Intisar al-Sharrah, Maram, Mishal al-Shaye, Fowz al-Shatti, Abdullah al-Musallam, Mohammed al-Shuaibi, Abdulrahman al-Hazeem, Fahad Layli, Mohammed al-Musallam, Jassim al-Bloushi and other select artists.
Authored by Abdulaziz al-Musallam, Devil Steps is based on a story by Mohamed al-Kandary.
The play starts from the verse, “O ye who believe! Do not follow the footsteps of the Shaytaan, and whoever follows the steps of the Shaytaan, he will order vilification and evil”.
The family of Saleh, who lives in modernity, is exposed to Satan in all ways, tempting them from weak faith towards sin and decorating it, and paves the way for it. While the act of doing so cannot be strengthened by the strong faith, it is permissible for him to neglect some acts of worship until he follows him.
Evil laughs, between the frightening and funny events reveal the secrets of the family of Saleh looking forward to tomorrow with all aspirations, dreams and ideas while the play reveals the truth that these aspirations and ideas initiative of the human soul or the thought of an outsider.
This play is not just a play but it reveals the reality of the human soul and sheds light on the fear and the danger to the individual and human communities through the horror comedy show based on fun and purposeful entertainment.
The setup is done by Sami al-Ali. The play is directed by Abdullah al-Musallam. Mohamed al-Mahdi is an executive director of the play. Lyrics are given by Shaikh Duaij al-Khalifa al-Sabah. Melodies are given by Ade Alfarhan and Hady Khamees. Mishari al-Jamaan has given the composition. Music and sound effects are done by Eng Khalid al-Ajlan. Vocal execution is provided by Abdulaziz al-Qadeeri. Lighting and décor are designed by Eng Mohammed al-Rubaiaan and Eng Ayman Abdulsalam. Hessa al-Abbad is the costume designer and Abdulaziz al-Juraib is the makeup artist. Fahad Laili works as the motion expression designer.
Ahmad Ali Dashti is the oroduction manager and other production management team include; Abdulwahab Allingawi, Abdullah al-Nasser, and Mohsen AlEnezi.
QNTC has gathered more than 30 partners to launch the summer programme, including the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Qatar Museums (QM), Qatar Airways, Katara – the Cultural Village, Qatar Foundation, Private Engineering Office, Katara Hospitality, Al Rayyan Hospitality, Marriott International hotels, nine participating malls, and other event partners, including QSports, Social Studios, Alchemy and Radio One FM Qatar.
