The “ever-popular” Smurfs come to life in a stage version this weekend as part of a packed programme of family-friendly entertainment this ‘Summer in Qatar’ (SiQ).
From tomorrow until July 20, children can enter the world of the classic blue characters, seeing Papa Smurf, Smurfette and the gang live at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
The entertainment does not stop there, with Hello Kitty Live at the QNCC from July 25- 27.
These shows, as part of SiQ and curated by the Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC), have been brought to Doha by Alchemy Project.
Tickets for the shows are available at www.tixbox.com.
“Some tickets remain as The Smurfs and Hello Kitty take the stage in Doha,” QNTC said in a statement yesterday.
‘Summer in Qatar’ includes “a plethora of entertainment shows, music concerts and comedy performances by top international artistes, including summer camps for children and youth, thrilling experiences and sporting tournaments, in addition to exciting travel, hospitality and retail promotions” running until August 16.
SiQ forms part of QNTC’s strategy to enrich and diversify the country’s tourism offering, particularly in the area of family and urban entertainment.
Thanks to the collaborative efforts of partners in both the public and private sector, Qatar has become a popular year-round destination since the launch of the first summer programme known as Qatar Summer Festival in 2014.
