Afghan authorities announced that 65 militants were killed and 28 other wounded in several security operations and air strikes in different parts of the country in the past 24 hours.
The Afghan Defense Ministry said in a statement Sunday that the security forces conducted 112 joint security operations, especially against armed groups, adding that the Afghan air force carried out 11 air strikes to support ground forces.
The statement further added that the security forces conducted the operations in Logar, Helmand, Ghazni, Faryab, Uruzgan, Ghor, Balkh, Kapisa, Zabul, Takhar, Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Herat and Sar-e-Pul provinces.
The Ministry of Defense also added that the coalition forces also provided support to the Afghan security forces during the operations. 

Car bombing in Southeastern Afghanistan

A car bomb explosion in Afghanistan's southeastern Ghazni province claimed the lives of at least 12 people and wounded at least 80 others.
Local officials confirmed that a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb close to an intelligence compound in 1st district of Ghazni city Sunday morning, Afghan (Khaama Press) reported.
The officials further added that the explosion claimed the lives of eight intelligence personnel and four civilians. However, the security officials are saying that the explosion has wounded at least 80 people including dozens of school children.
The Taliban immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, noting that it was targeting a facility of the Afghanistan's National Security Forces.
