Qatar Aeronautical College on Monday celebrated the graduation of its class of the 2018-2019 academic year, which exceeded 100 graduates spread over different specialisations.
HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti congratulated the graduates, expressing his appreciation of their success and determination to play a role in the development of Qatar and their countries.
He stressed that Qatar continuously emphasises the importance of investing in human development and human resources in the implementation of its 2030 national vision.
This is clear in the country's strong focus on education, which contributes to social and economic development.

The minister said that Qatar's investment in the aviation education field yielded 5,578 diploma holders from Qatar Aeronautical College and graduates of short courses who now work in their countries.
He noted that the past few years saw the college conclude several agreements and memorandums of understanding.
It has also worked on enhancing the content of its library, modernise its fleet, recruit highly competent training staff, bring in the latest training equipment and increase technical training.
These efforts, the minister said, were to provide the ideal environment for students to study commercial aviation, aircraft maintenance engineering, air surveillance, meteorology, airport management, security management and other subjects.
For his part, Director-General of Qatar Aeronautical College Jabor bin Hamad al-Thani said that the college is working on achieving its goals of providing training to those who wish to specialise in different segments of the aviation industry.
He noted that the college now provides the local and international market with new cadres.
Jabor bin Hamad al-Thani said that the college managed to twin its programmes and develop all aspects of its educational process in order to ensure the training of strong cadres.
The college is also working on partnering with international universities in the field of research and higher education that will be completed in the near future.
Jabor bin Hamad al-Thani noted that the college's activities prompted the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to have the college host the 5th Global Aviation Training and TRAINAIR PLUS Symposium.
During that time, the college signed a Memorandum of Understanding with France's ENAC for a master's programme in air safety management.
The programme attracted 15 students who were employees in the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Hamad International Airport and Civil Aviation Authority.
They joined the programme on March 17 of 2019, and are expected to graduate in August 2020. 
The ceremony witnessed the graduation of 33 graduates of the Ministry of the Interior studying in the Diploma in Security and Immigration Management, including 19 graduates from the airport security department, and 14 graduates from the airport passport department.
In this context, HE the Director of Public Security Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim al-Khulaifi, congratulated the graduates.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Interior has its priorities in the field of human resources development and the preparation of qualified national security cadres in line with its strategy to meet the functional needs needed by the ministry. This was seen through the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding with universities and colleges specialised locally and internationally, including the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry and the Qatar Aeronautical College.
The Diploma in Security and Immigration Management programme is recognised academically by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and by the educational authorities in Britain, so that the diploma is calculated in the future graduate studies, stressing that this diploma can cover the needs of the Ministry of Interior cadres for rehabilitation in this field.
The Director of Airport Security Department Brigadier, General Issa Arar al-Rumaihi, stressed that the graduation of this batch is a real addition to the management because they are qualified and trained staff to work at Hamad International Airport, whether in the passports or airport security sections.
He pointed out that the affiliation of the members of the Ministry of Interior to the Qatar Aeronautical College comes in the belief of the Ministry of the importance of preparing the human cadres qualified to work at Hamad International Airport as one of the most vital facilities in the country.
He stressed the continued co-operation between the Ministry of Interior and the College in order to ensure the success of the rehabilitation project of the ministry.
Al-Rumaihi explained that the co-operation with the College aims to prepare the staff of the Department in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 in terms of emphasis on the best way to deal with passengers, and aims to upgrade the professional and practical level of the staff of airport passport management and security management of the airport.
For her part on behalf of the graduates, graduate student Sarah Mohamed al-Sarraf of the Airport Engineering and Maintenance Department confirmed that graduates of the 2018/2019 academic year from the Qatar Aeronautical College have worked with all effort and sincerity to make their mark for the sake of Qatar and participate in the process of construction and development witnessed by the country and to ensure its future brilliant.
