Lagoona Mall, in association with the Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC), is inviting all football fans, together with their family members and friends, to support and cheer their beloved teams during the 2019 Copa America and Africa Cup of Nations on a giant screen set up in the North Court Lobby of the mall.
QNTC, as part of its ‘Summer in Qatar’ campaign, “is supporting Lagoona Mall’s commitment to bringing the spirit of the game to football fans in Qatar”, according to a press statement.
With a focus on building in-country offerings, QNTC supports sports and other activities, building a variety of programmes in urban and family entertainment with products appealing to all ages.
This year’s Copa America is being held until July 7 while the Africa Cup of Nations will start on June 21 with the final to be played on July 19.
For the first time in its history, the Qatar national team will face South America’s best football teams with matches against Paraguay, Colombia and the star-studded Argentina.
Fans who are still buzzing from Qatar’s inspirational victory during the AFC Asian Cup 2019 will have the chance once again to cheer for the country’s national team in a momentous event marking one step closer in the World Cup journey.
Mall-goers are also set to live the excitement of the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be contested by 24 teams vying to be crowned champions of the continent, the statement noted.
All eyes are expected to be on Mohamed Salah and his Liverpool clubmate, Sadio Mane, who are leading the Egypt and Senegal teams, respectively.
With such big names falling within this year’s selections, the competition will surely leave everyone off their feet.
