Thousands of people have participated and enjoyed the Eid-related festivities held at Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakrah, which concluded on Sunday night, according to the Private Engineering Office (PEO).
Organised by the PEO’s Celebrations Committee, the events at both souqs attracted thousands of citizens, residents, and tourists. The families arrived from the first days of the festival, where young people and adults enjoyed food inside air-conditioned tents, as well as the various games and recreational activities.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Souq Waqif manager Mohamed al-Salem said the Eid al-Fitr celebrations inside the large air-conditioned tent in Al Ahmad Square witnessed a huge turnout from the families, exceeding expectations. He also noted that Souq Waqif will witness several activities in the future.
The activities inside the tent in Al Ahmad Square included electromechanical games and other intelligence games for all age groups, as well as recreational activities, fun games, entertainment, and theater play for kids.
In addition, the Souq Waqif Centre for Arts witnessed a large number of art aficionados and artists painted on the children faces wonderful paintings. Also, Souq Al Wakrah witnessed a huge turnout from the families and youth. 
Souq Al Wakrah manager Khalid Saif al-Suwaidi also told QNA that the inauguration of the first section of the Qatar Rail’s Red Line of the Doha Metro has contributed significantly to the flow of traffic and the arrival of large numbers to Al Wakrah. He pointed out that public demand exceeded expectations.
Al-Suwaidi said the presence of Souq Al Wakrah on the waterfront “is a great attraction, as the atmosphere is nice in the evening,” in addition to the large air-conditioned tent, which has more than 40 different games in addition to recreational activities and fun games on the seafront.
