M. Pallonji emerged the Division I champions of the 25th Gulf Incon-Metabo Ramadan Cricket Tournament after defeating CCRC by eight wickets in the final at old Ideal Indian School floodlit ground.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, CCRC set M Pallonji a challenging target of 133 runs, with the help of Ifzal’s 44 from 17 balls. Muzzamil scored 19 runs. For M. Pallonji, Sadique and Alban took two wickets each. In reply, Pallonji batsmen were never under any real pressure as Sajeev scored 32 runs in 11 balls, Sandesh made 30 in 12 while man of the match Rauf blasted 32 off just 10.
Metabo/Gulf Incon’s Sajjad Ahmed Khan, Rajkumar Selvarajan, Ramesh Natarajan and Vincent Vimaldas were present at the prize distribution ceremony. QCA national coach appointed by Asian Cricket Council Shahid Mehboob, QCA Head of Domestic Cricket Gul Khan, QCA official umpires and Qatar Veterans Cricket officials Tahir Mehmood and Naseen were the guests of honour.
