Thundery rain is expected in some places on Sunday along with sudden strong winds and poor visibility, the Qatar Met department has said.
The weather report states that thundershowers and windy conditions are likely in offshore areas, too, along with high seas.
Sporadic rain was reported from some areas on Saturday, accompanied by the occasional thunderstorm, especially in the southern parts. The Met department had earlier said there are chances of scattered light rain in the country until Tuesday, May 21.
Today’s detailed forecast says the wind speed may go up to 25 knots in both inshore and offshore areas on Sunday during thundery rain, with the sea level rising to 8ft.
Cloudy conditions and scattered rain is expected inshore, which may become thundery in some places. Blowing dust is also likely at times.
Offshore areas will also see cloudy conditions on Sunday and there is a possibility of scattered rain, which may turn thundery occasionally.
Visibility, meanwhile, may drop to 3km or less during the thundershowers.
The maximum temperature on Sunday will be 39C in Abu Samra and Dukhan, 37C in Doha, Wakrah and Mesaieed, 36C in Al Khor and 34C in Ruwais. The minimum, on the other hand, will range from 27C in Dukhan to 30C in Doha and Al Khor.
Saturday, the maximum temperature was 41C in Abu Hamour, Sheehaniyah and Jumayliyah, 40C in Batna and 39C in Doha, Abu Samra and Ghuwairiyah. The minimum was 28 C in Mesaieed, Abu Samra and other places, while in Doha it was 30C.Last updated: May 18 2019 11:13 PM
