The Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA) has announced the launch of the ‘QBWA Takreem Awards,’ which aims to recognise Qatari women who has contributed to Qatar’s economy and society through their significant achievements in different fields.    
Under the auspices of HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani, QBWA Takreem is a new initiative to celebrate the outstanding contributions made by women from different fields across Qatar.
The judging panel is composed of individuals from a wide range of sectors who has brought their knowledge of Qatar’s business and social landscape to the table in both nominating and deciding the winner in a thoroughly transparent process. 
The judging panel includes QBWA board member Mishael al-Ansari, director of corporate communications at Anti-Doping Lab and managing partner of Oishi Sushi; QBWA board member Amal al-Aathem, counselor at the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and chairwoman of 7th Heaven Arts; Evren Sharma, spouse of British ambassador Ajay Sharma; QBWA honourary member Lolwa al-Marri, president of Qatar Women Sports Committee (QWSC); Bedaya Centre general manager Reem al-Suwaidi; and Qatar Business Incubation Centre Business Development manager Aysha al-Romaihi.
The nominations were made by the judges and the winners were selected after long and thorough consideration. The names of the winners will be revealed next week during an award ceremony co-hosted by Al Wadi MGallery Hotel located in Msheireb Downtown Doha and with support from official media partner, I Love Qatar.
QBWA vice chairwoman Aisha Hussain Alfardan said, “At QBWA, we believe that recognition is very important and therefore, we launched this initiative that aims at identify and recognise Qatari women who excelled in their fields for them to inspire others, especially younger generation of women in Qatar to reach their full potential.”
QBWA was established in 2000 to provide a platform to empower business and professional women and to unlock the potential of future generations in support of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
QBWA is chaired by Sheikha al-Anood bint Khalifah bin Hamad al-Thani and managed by a number of prominent businesswomen who have a history of success in many businesses in different sectors that they work in or manage.
