The Public Works Authority Ashghal has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
This agreement aims to achieve one of Ashghal's key corporate objectives, which is to develop the capabilities of its employees, through utilising the services of CIOB towards the ongoing career development of Ashghal employees in the field of construction, engineering and asset management.
The MoU aims to enhance mutual co-operation, and benefit from the resources of both entities by sharing experiences in education, training and promotion. This is in addition to focusing on the importance of managing infrastructure projects with the highest professional efficiency.
The MoU is designed to enable the Public Works Authority and the Chartered Institute of Building to collaborate for the organisation of events such as conferences, forums, seminars, publications and educational materials, as well as awareness-raising activities on sustainability in the built environment.
Infrastructure Affairs Director at Ashghal Engineer Mohamed Masoud al-Marri said that Ashghal is keen on strengthening the co-operation and partnership with all professional institutions, both local and international, to implement further capacity building programmes and competencies to enhance human resources and employee potentials.
He added that he was pleased to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Chartered Institute of Building to enhance the mutual co-operation between the two parties in many fields of education, and joint research projects which contribute to raising the efficiency of workers in implementing high quality projects implemented by the authority.
"We are proud to work closely with the Public Works Authority to promote diverse educational programmes that support their mission and vision," said President of the CIOB Chris Soffe.
He pointed out that the memorandum promotes the development of staff and raises their competencies through specialised training courses.
