Doha Bank has opened free online registration for the 2019 Al Dana Green Run, which will take place tomorrow at Al Bidda Park.
The 14th edition of the annual run has been organised by Doha Bank and supported by Qatar’s Ministry of Culture and Sports, Qatar Sports for All (QSFA) Federation, the Traffic Department and Aspire Academy.
Al Dana Green Run is open to people of all age groups and fitness levels, offering six running categories, including professional athletes, families and special needs, among others. Winners from each category will be awarded many prizes, while plenty of surprises will also be on offer for audience members, who will be treated to free entertainment all day long.
The family-friendly event will also feature a dedicated fun zone area at the venue to entertain visitors of all ages with a range of activities, such as kids’ concerts and dance parties, face painting, inflatables bouncy houses with giant slides, football and basketball competitions, as well as colouring crafts workshops, Doha Bank has said in a statement.
Dr R Seetharaman, Doha Bank CEO, said: “Following the great success of the last Al Dana Green Run, having 6,000 participants, this year has more winners with cash prizes and vouchers from partners. We encourage everyone to participate in and be part of this run. Doha Bank celebrates its 40th anniversary by giving prizes of QR2mn to one winner and QR1mn to another winner, and there will be more than 100 other Al Dana winners.”
Ahmed al-Henzab, head of the Administration & Property Department, noted: “We look forward to bringing the local community together once again to promote sustainability and a healthy lifestyle, and, above all, to show our respect and solidarity to Qatar and its wise leadership.”
QSFA president Abdulrahman al-Dosari said, ‘We are thrilled to collaborate with Doha Bank’s Al Dana Green Run once again for its 14th edition. I believe that it is our duty to support this unique event as Qatar is on its way to becoming a global sports destination.”
