The second edition of Qatar International Medical Devices and Health Exhibition (QMED) was opened on Monday by HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari at a ceremony attended by diplomats and a number of other dignitaries from the local and international medical sectors.

QMED brings more than 40 exhibitors from countries including Qatar, Turkey, the US, Switzerland, Thailand and the UK to showcase the latest technologies in the medical sector.


Organised by Sogha Exhibitions and Conferences, the three-day event is being held at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

This year’s Edition of QMED is supported by the Qatar National Tourism Council, Qatar Diabetes Association, and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce. Exhibition sponsors also include Alfardan Medical with Northwestern Medicine (AMNM) and Ooredoo, as main Strategic Sponsors; Naufar Hospital and Sharq Medical Supply as Diamond Sponsors; Germin MED and Aljazeera Medical Group as Gold Sponsors, Qatar Free Zone Authority and Qatar Red Crescent as Silver Sponsors and Boom Waste Treatment as Bronze Sponsor.

AMNM had a condensed line-up of symposia covering a range of pressing medical issues on the opening day. Today, Reviva Medical Services will also cover a series of topics related to various new therapy technologies, and in parallel, Naufar Hospital will talk all about addiction as a disease and proven methods of treatment.
