Human Resource Professional Forum – Qatar (HRPFQ) was launched recently at a ceremony in Doha by P Kumaran, Indian ambassador and chief guest, and Azim Abbas, Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) president and guest of honour.  
HRPFQ, affiliated to IBPC, under the aegis of the Indian embassy, is a platform for HR professionals to share and gain knowledge and help the community.
The event was led by Ashwini Toppo, head of HR at Galfar Al Misnad who represented the forum as its vice-president. He briefed the gathering on the formation and development of the HRPFQ.
This was followed by a speech by Syed Qadeer, general manager of Global Premium HR Services, representing the forum as its president who welcomed and introduced the managing committee. The forum was officially inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony.
The vision of HRPFQ was introduced on the occasion. The mission of HRPFQ was also shared by praising and thanking the leadership of Kumaran and the support extended by Abbas.
During his speech, Qadeer appreciated the founding members, James George – ex AGM Jumbo Electronics, and TVS Prasad – managing director of Excellence Consultant, for their initiative, support and guidance.  
The key objectives were read out and the envoy was requested to launch the HRPFQ website (www.hrpfq.com).
Ambassador Kumaran addressed the audience by emphasising the importance of the changing demography of the global working population and the new opportunities and challenges emerging due to this. He stressed the need to capitalise on the opportunities and the role HRPFQ can play in co-ordination with the IBPC, ICBF and Indian embassy. The role of HRPFQ to become an enabler and facilitator of initiatives in co-ordination with other agencies will facilitate initiatives to further improve the working conditions of expatriates, it was observed.
This was followed by a speech of Abbas, in which he gave an assurance on support and guidance for HRPFQ and applauded the steps taken towards betterment of the community.
