The State of Qatar participated on Monday in the 151st Session of the Council of the Arab League at the level of Permanent Delegates under the chairmanship of Somalia as a successor to Sudan, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.

HE Qatar's Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al Sahlawi chaired Qatar's delegation to the meeting.

The session will discuss the draft agenda, which includes the report of the Secretary-General on the activities of the Secretariat and the procedures for the implementation of Council resolutions between 150-151 sessions as well as the draft agenda of the Council of the Arab League at the 30th summit in Tunisia in March.

It also discusses issues related to the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict. This item includes a number of topics, including follow-up to the political developments of the Palestinian issue, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and activating the Arab peace initiative, in addition to the Israeli violations in the occupied Jerusalem, Arab water security, Israel's theft of water in the occupied Arab territories, and the occupied Syrian Golan.

The session will discuss issues of solidarity with Lebanon, developments in Syria, Libya and Yemen, support for peace and development in Sudan, support for Somalia and countries from Africa.

The draft agenda includes a number of social and cultural issues, including support for internally displaced persons in Arab countries and displaced Iraqis in particular, and the proclamation of March 28 every year as a day to celebrate the Arab musical culture and permanent membership of the State of Palestine in the executive office of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers.
