QIB was recently awarded the “Best Retail Mobile Banking Experience” in Qatar by The Asset magazine, a leading financial publication in the Asia Pacific.
These Triple-A digital awards recognise financial institutions and technology firms that have excelled in innovating and developing unique digital experience for customers across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions, including Qatar.
During fiscal year 2018, QIB introduced several digital products and services with a particular focus to upgrade its ‘Mobile App’. Enhancing its customers’ digital banking experience, the bank was the first in Qatar and the first Islamic Bank in the world to launch “Instant Finance,” an innovative, high-secure end-to-end digital solution.
Pre-approved QIB customers are eligible to digitally apply for a finance which is credited into their accounts within a few minutes, without the need to visit a branch or sign any physical documents.
“We are pleased to receive international prestigious digital-related awards as it reflects QIB’s growth and influence on the digital financial landscape in Qatar, the Middle East, and today in Asia” said, D Anand, QIB’s Personal Banking Group general manager. “Digitalisation of products and services is at the heart of QIB’s transformational approach to banking in Qatar. QIB has introduced a range of new digitally enabled financial services and products, which facilitates and enhance our customer’s banking experience,” Anand said.
“Customer experience is at the centre of QIB’s digital strategy and we are also pleased to get very positive feedback directly from our customers through their testimonials on both the Apple and Android Stores. The convenience we bring into our customers’ life is achieved in a secure manner as the Bank is applying strict cybersecurity measures and controls for all its systems and applications,” Anand added.
Since last year, QIB has introduced several new innovative features to its mobile banking app, helping customers to manage their money quickly and easily. Viewing their overall net-worth, creating and managing beneficiaries for local and international transfers, enabling card-less cash withdrawal (e-cash), activating magnetic stripe for debit and credit cards to ease the use of cards internationally, activating and deactivating any card for increased security, booking a visit to branch and logging into the app through face ID or fingerprint were introduced to meet the customers’ financial needs in a fast, efficient and, most importantly, secured way.
Additionally, QIB’s mobile banking users have the ability to open new accounts, to book a fixed deposit or subscribe to a ‘Certificate of Deposits’ through a few easy steps.
Of equal importance is that the new design of the mobile app is intuitive and allows the customer to complete any task with much fewer taps and much faster than before.
