The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) is taking part in the Tawteen programme for the localisation of services and industries in the energy sector, which is organised by Qatar Petroleum (QP).
The ministry’s participation in the event reflects its solid commitment to supporting the SME (small and medium enterprises) sector and entrepreneurs and falls in line with its efforts to keep entrepreneurs informed of the latest initiatives and investment opportunities offered by it.
Through these activities, the MoCI aims to encourage entrepreneurs to establish new companies that meet the needs of the Qatari market across all sectors. It will shed light on vital economic sectors that offer promising investment opportunities and the key initiatives it is undertaking to provide a stimulating investment environment for small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs. The ministry will highlight the exemptions offered to investors in the industrial sectors, and answer inquiries relating to preliminary approvals, industrial licences and registration certificates in the industrial register, while marketing the Qatar Industrial Portal as an official source of industrial data in the state.
Within the framework of its participation in the Tawteen programme, the ministry will organise two workshops on improving the ease of doing business in Qatar.
The workshops will showcase the key characteristics that position Qatar as an attractive investment environment and the most important incentives and legislations adopted by the state to support entrepreneurship and the private sector, in a bid to further attract foreign direct investments and new companies to the Qatari market.
