The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) General Cleaning Department has intensified its operations at both Al Rayyan and Doha cities, where around 2,025 tonnes of varied waste materials and garbage were removed during January.
In addition, a considerable amount of construction waste thrown away in unregulated manner was collected from different areas around the county including 1,530 tonnes in Doha, 300 tonnes in Al Shehaniyah and 195 tonnes in Al Rayyan. Such cleaning campaigns are part of MME efforts to remove any waste and maintain the good outlook of the local environment.


Waste materials being removed

Al Rayyan Municipality conducted a number of inspection campaign in the field of construction during January within its jurisdiction. These resulted in issuing 32 violation reports with 23 of them resolved in reconciliation after paying the set fines by the violators. The collected amounts of fines at this period reached QR239,346 at the building and excavation unit. 
Al Wakrah Municipality Technical Control Section issued 20 violation reports with 12 of them resolved in reconciliation as part of an inspection campaign within the municipality on related issues.
Al Shehaniyah Wildlife unit has spotted five violations of the decision to ban camel grazing in the middle area and the legal procedures against the violators have been taken.
