Aligned with the goals of the National Tourism Council (NTC), Qatar’s “largest outdoor amusement park” – Entertainment World Village (EWV) – is seeking to create additional attractions in Doha for both residents and tourists to enjoy.
Moreover, EWV is also supporting local entrepreneurs in the retail and food and beverage (F&B) sector by offering them a platform to promote new ideas and business concepts.
“As the park goes on, we always want to keep it fresh, so we're constantly bringing in new rides, F&B outlets and entertainment. Only recently, we opened five new restaurants at the park,” said Joseph Newnham, who heads Marketing & Public Relations at EWV.

Many fun rides are available at the village

Grilled delights are among the popular cuisines offered

“In terms of creating more attractions, we always make sure that we follow the National Tourism Council’s goals and we take into consideration very seriously any feedback that comes from them,” Newnham told Gulf Times  Friday.
Aside from amusement rides, skills games, bazaars, and a variety of food outlets, EWV also features a three-day cultural event from Thursdays that features shows from different expatriate communities in Qatar.
This week witnessed Pakistani Community Week and from next Thursday, EWV will showcase ‘Arabian Nights’, which will feature bazaars and handcrafts, roaming and stage shows, as well as student performances from different schools.
Newnham said EWV boasts over 30 rides for adults and children of all ages, as well as more than 10 skills games, it also has more than 30 food stalls that offer Arabic, Asian, Filipino, American, Italian, and Pakistani cuisine, among others, as well as a variety of ‘amusement park food’.
The food stalls are located along a boardwalk-style or Corniche type area fronting The Pearl Qatar’s Legtaifiya Beach, offering a scenic view for families and people who want to just chill and dine.
Newnham stressed that the restaurants are mostly run by small, local entrepreneurs with new ideas, who see EWV “as the perfect platform for their businesses.”
“Apart from being an attractive venue, we encourage people to come not only for the rides and thrills, but to enjoy the full day out with friends and family, to experience the cultural shows and dine beside the beach” Newnham pointed out.
He also added that EWV is currently implementing a beautification drive to make sure visitors of the park enjoy its amenities. “We are still zoning the park, and visitors can expect new rides, games and other attractions launching in the future.”
