His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani patronised on Thursday morning the graduation ceremony of the 14th batch of candidates of the Armed Forces Officers of the Ministry of the Interior and other security services at Ahmed bin Mohamed Military College.

The ceremony was attended by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, Somalia's Minister of Defence Hassan Ali Mohamed and the Army's Deputy Chief of Staff and representative of the Minister of Defence in Kuwait Lt Gen Abdullah al-Nawaf al-Sabah.

It was also attended by a number ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, senior officers of the armed forces and the Ministry of the Interior, leaders of military colleges from brotherly and friendly countries, guests and parents of graduates.

After playing the National Anthem, the commander of the parade requested the Amir to review the parade of the 152 graduates from Qatar, Kuwait and Sudan.

After reciting verses from the Holy Qur'an, the Amir honoured the top ten outstanding graduates of the 14th batch, Abdullah Ali Mohamed Fahad a- Khater (joint-first), Saad Jumah Sultan Lamlum al-Mesifari (joint-second), Shaheen Ahmed Shaheen Issa al-Ghanim (joint-third ), Abdullah Ibrahim Mohamed bin Hamed (first in military science - Sudan), Mubarak Mohamed al-Mubarak Ahmad (first in accounting - Sudan), Maysarah al-Tom Hamed Manna (first in administration - Sudan), Al-Munther Mohamed Saeed Ahmed Mohamed Saeed (first in law - Sudan), Mohamed Abdul Halim Fadel al-Mawla Saadullah (first in international relations - Sudan), Fawwaz Faraj Hamad Faraj al-Shalal (first in leadership competence - Kuwait) and Antar Hamad Antar al-Munkhas al-Marri (first in the shooting).

After that the 14th batch handed over the flag to the 15th batch.

An order for promotions was read out and the graduates took the oath.

Addressing the ceremony, Commander of the Military College Maj Gen Fahad bin Mubarak al-Khayareen expressed the pride of the college and the graduates for the patronage and honour of the Amir attending the graduation ceremony.

Al-Khayareen said the graduates will join the Armed Forces, Ministry of Interior, Lekhwiya, Amiri Guard and Qatar State Security, in addition to colleagues from Kuwait and Sudan.

He also stressed the college's efforts to develop its military and academic programmes according to modern curricula.
